Granger Elementary, Sharon Elementary and Hinckley Elementary

Hammond Construction served as the construction manager at risk for Highland’s three new elementary schools. All three of the projects were constructed in a park-like setting and with similar amenities. There were significant challenges in the early stages of the project to find and purchase land for each school their respective communities. Hammond worked closely with the district and realtor over several months to secure the properties and work through various approvals. For the design of the schools, the district chose to incorporate flexibility into the layout of the interior spaces. Each school will feature a cafeteria with a stage, allowing the space to serve the students and community in multiple ways. The gymnasium is located directly adjacent to the cafeteria, separated by a moveable partition wall that can open to create large gathering spaces.
